Architecture surrounds us always and everywhere, being an integral part of human
evolution and one of the obvious products of our daily life - whether it is the store next
door, the library or our own apartment. All this is created by people for people.
The interior as a content of architecture has a huge influence on the human brain, as
our eye constantly absorbs what surrounds us and sends impulses to the brain.
Especially if we live in the city and live an active lifestyle, we visit friends, go on
museum tours or theater performances. Walls, arrangement, filling with furniture,
design of household appliances, shape of windows and width of windowsills - all this has
changed thousands of times over the centuries, reaching our days as visual aids to how
our ancestors lived in farms, apartments in Hrusovkas, or manors.
Having graduated this year from Tartu Art School's decorator specialty (whose job
mandates include interior design and decoration), I have a professional interest in it,
both aesthetic and scientific. By studying the history of architecture and interiors, we
can trace the history of the world, many events have greatly influenced why our
apartments look like they do now.
