Ilja Jakovlev

The concept of my second solo exhibition was to expand the understanding and
meaning of the word "type" which we all associate for the most part only with text and
writing. In my works, I tried to show that for me a font is not only a set of written
characters brought to one style and size, but that it surrounds us
absolutely everywhere. The semantic load of the font can manifest itself in the even
line of windows of apartments in a panel house, in whose facial features we see a
person every day or in the starry sky, and even in the interweaving of apple tree
branches in the garden. I presented 15 paintings of different techniques and formats at
the exhibitions.
