Soup is a liquid dish that contains at least 50% liquid. The liquid part of the soup is
called the base, the dense garnish. Soups are prepared using broth, boiling, milk and
dairy products, and kalja. Soups are accompanied by a wide range of products:
vegetables, mushrooms, cereals, legumes and pasta, fish, meat and poultry.
Soup is an important component of the human diet, which serves as a source of energy
and a material for building the body's organs and tissues. The extractive, flavoring and
aromatic substances of soups stimulate the appetite and improve digestion.
Soup is one of the oldest dishes on earth, its archaic structure unchanged for thousands
of years. Water in the soup combines completely different ingredients into a single
whole - we bring together different authors under the auspices of promoting young art
and "cultivating" a new art culture.
When we grow food in a greenhouse, we are essentially growing a crop. food culture.
SIGNATURA, participating in the promotion of young authors and supporting the art
market seems to be the growing seedlings and the beginning of the culture of the
future. A greenhouse, as a place created for growing fruits, can have the same
conceptual functionality as a gallery or a museum, whose main task is to grow culture
in an artistic environment, where fruits are not vegetables, but the work of authors. .
We draw a parallel between two seemingly opposite aspects of human life - the
agrarian-agricultural and the cultural. In both cases we are dealing with the process of
planting, growing and reaping the fruits, the difference is only in the meaning of these
processes.
When collecting vegetables at the end of the season, they are used to prepare dishes,
twist jars, cut salads and cook soup. Also, curators and gallerists can put together a
soup from the fruits of different authors, where the concept of liquid acts as a
connecting element between different ingredients.
So when you enter our greenhouse, instead of the usual flora, you will see paintings
hanging instead, us young authors and participants of the SIGNATURA project.
In the end, everything in our world is like a soup - a big, eternally boiling brew, where
the flavor comes from different elements because of the link. Of course, let's not
forget the pun either, because we are opening the SIGNATURA ART SUPP exhibition
right in the greenhouse in Supilinna as part of the open courtyards day.
